The world renowned photographer Damir Šagolj will join the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival team. Through the popular social network Instagram, Šagolj will offer a series of cell phone photographs featuring some of the atmosphere in Sarajevo during SFF in an appealing way.

Instagram users will have the opportunity to enjoy excellent photographs by Damir Šagolj and to follow interesting Festival events on the official Sarajevo Film Festival profile (sarajevofilmfestival).

Šagolj's photographs have been published by world's leading magazines and newspapers. He is the recipient of several international awards for photojournalism including World Press Photo, POYi, NPPA...  He has numerous exhibitions, including a big solo show at Visa D’or in Perpignan.

Damir Šagolj is currently based in Bangkok as the Reuters chief photographer for Thailand and Indochina.

His first international assignments in 1990s were the historical events in Balkan. As the Balkan was calming down, he started traveling to the Middle East more often - Iran, Lebanon and Israel. After covering 9/11 in New York he moved to Afghanistan and Iraq. His coverage of the coalition troop’s invasion of Iraq was, among other awards, nominated for the Pulitzer Prize as the only second reporter for the non-American media in the history of that prize.

Most recently he covered the Japan's tsunami, Pakistan and Thailand floods, hunger crisis in North Korea, the war crimes tribunal in the Hague, democratic changes in Myanmar...

Sarajevo Film Festival is particularly pleased to be working with Šagolj and that this excellent photographer will be part of the team that makes the 19th edition of the Festival possible.
