SITTING NEXT TO ZOE Opens TeenArena

The TeenArena programme opens this year on the third day of the Festival (17 August). TeenArena is a programme for teenagers, with films that address issues such as growing up, the relationship of teenagers towards the world, the obstacles faced by this younger population, how they overcome them and how they learn to form their own critical standpoints and opinions.

SITTING NEXT TO ZOE, by Ivana Lalović, is the first of the eleven films in this year’s selection. It tells the story of Asla and Zoe, best friends spending their last summer together before their lives begin in earnest.

Ivana Lalović was born in Sarajevo, in 1982. In 2008, she graduated with a diploma in film directing from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Her film TIT FOR TAT was nominated for the 2010 Swiss Film Award. She currently lives and works in Zurich.

The film will be screened at Multiplex Cinema City, at 19:00.
