Exploring Synergies 2026: Managing Intellectual Property Across Creative Industries

This year’s edition will feature a strong group of international lecturers and industry experts

Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days will once again host Exploring Synergies, a programme dedicated to the meeting point between publishing and the audiovisual industry.

Developed within CineLink Industry Days Training and Skills, Exploring Synergies brings together writers, publishers, producers, screenwriters, directors, editors, agents and other industry professionals to examine how stories move across formats, markets and media. At its centre is a pressing industry question: how can intellectual property be developed, adapted and positioned across platforms with greater creativity, precision and strategic understanding?

The programme focuses on adaptation, intellectual property management and cross-format storytelling, while also addressing shifts that are reshaping the contemporary content landscape. The 2026 edition places particular attention on emerging formats such as microdrama and vertical storytelling, recognising their growing relevance in the way stories are produced, distributed and consumed today.

This year’s edition will feature a strong group of international lecturers and industry experts, including Roy Ashton, Partner and Agent in the Television Literary Department at Gersh (US); Billy Bowring, Co-Executive Producer of Slow Horses (Apple TV+) and Executive Producer at 60Forty Films (UK); Gerhard Maier, Co-Founder and Head of Programme at Seriencamp (DE); Marina Williams, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Asacha Media Group (Fremantle), and former COO International Operations at Endemol Shine Group (Banijay) (UK); Tamara Babun Zovko, Producer at Wolfgang&Dolly LLC; Jasna Novakov Sibinović, CEO and Executive Director at Geopoetika; Barbara Daljavec, Producer at RTV SLO; and Luka Marčetić, Screenwriter and Director (SLO). Together, they bring expertise spanning literary adaptation, packaging, international television development, commissioning logic, market consolidation and new storytelling formats.Through lectures, case studies, discussions and hands-on work, leading and emerging professionals from the publishing and audiovisual sectors will engage in practical exchange, focusing on adaptation, development and market positioning. The programme is designed to encourage new partnerships, strengthen cross-sector understanding, and open space for projects to be tested against current creative and market realities.

In 2026, Exploring Synergies is organised in close connection with CineLink Drama, creating a shared framework that links project development, training and industry exchange. This collaboration introduces a format that combines an industry platform with a workshop-based environment, allowing participants to refine projects while engaging directly with current questions of financing, packaging, market access and adaptation.

By connecting different creative sectors and encouraging dialogue between established and emerging professionals, Exploring Synergies, taking place from 23 to 27 April, continues to strengthen Sarajevo as a place where new ideas, new collaborations and new storytelling models can take shape.
