HANNAH MCGILL

After a degree in English Literature, Film Studies and Television from the University of Glasgow, Hannah McGill worked as a columnist and critic for several prominent magazines. She has written for The Scotsman, The Herald, The Times, Time Out, Art Review and The Guardian. She is also the author of several short plays that were broadcast on BBC Radio 4. She currently teaches Film Journalism at the University of Glasgow. In September 2006, she was named Artistic Director of the Edinburgh Film Festival, and has since then taken part in juries at many world festivals, such as the Copenhagen DOX Documentary Festival, the Morelia International Film Festival and the BigPond Adelaide Film Festival.
