The world premiere of feature film THE PIGEON THIEVES

Tonight, in the Competition Programme, the audience of 24th Sarajevo Film Festival had an opportunity to see the world premiere of Turkish feature film THE PIGEON THIEVES, directed by Osman Nail Doğan. The screening took place at 22:00 in the National Theatre.

Sixteen-year-old Mahmut’s life consists of feeding pigeons and making money from stealing birds that belong to others. His greatest dream is to have the best birds. One day, one of his pigeons escapes and does not return. One day, Mahmut finds a pigeon nesting on a roof, and meets Ismail, an eight-year-old boy who lives in that house. This meeting becomes an important turning point that will affect both boys' lives. Mahmut decides to steal the pigeons to help Ismail achieve his dream.
