Amira Lekić

Producer (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Amira Lekić was born in 1975 in Woodstock, Canada, and received a BA in International Relations from Windsor University. In 1999, Lekić moved to Sarajevo to work for international development agencies such as Save the Children. In 2007, she joined the Sarajevo-based independent production house Deblokada, where she worked as executive producer on Andrea Štaka's CURE – THE LIFE OF ANOTHER and Jasmila Žbanić's FOR THOSE WHO CAN TELL NO TALES and LOVE ISLAND. Lekić started working as an independent executive producer and production manager in 2015, and has since co-operated on numerous projects by SCCA/pro.ba and Deblokada, including Danis Tanović's DEATH IN SARAJEVO and Alen Drljević's MEN DON'T CRY, as well as on projects by other production companies in the region, such as Embassy Films in Dubrovnik and Division Productions in Ljubljana. She is a member of the EAVE network.
