Applications begin for TV series for the Heart of Sarajevo Awards of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival

The applications are open for submission until 5 Mary 2023, free of charge. The award ceremony for the category of TV series will be held at the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival, which will take place from 11 to 18 August this year.

Applications for TV series for the Heart of Sarajevo Award of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival begin. The applications are open for submission until 5 Mary 2023, free of charge.

Drama series and comedies from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Slovenia, premiered in the period from 1 April 2022 to 30 April 2023, are eligible for application.

Series for the Sarajevo Film Festival program are submitted by the producer/rights holder, and for the possibility of being nominated for awards it is necessary to register all episodes of the series.

Nominations and awards will be decided by the expert jury of more than 450 film professionals from the region.

The awards will be granted in two categories: drama series and comedy. The drama series category includes 8 awards: best drama series, best leading actress, best leading actor, best supporting actress, best supporting actor, rising star, best director (for an episode), and best screenplay (for an episode).

The comedy category includes 5 awards: best comedy, best leading actress, best leading actor, best director (for an episode), and best screenplay (for an episode).

The Heart of Sarajevo awards for best TV series were introduced by the Sarajevo Film Festival in 2021 in aim to promote and honour top quality regional television series for the previous year.

The award ceremony for the category of TV series will be held at the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival, which will take place from 11 to 18 August this year.
