Tom Shoval

Tom Shoval was born in 1981 Israel. He graduated from the Sam Spiegel School for Cinema in 2007. His short films, THE HUNGRY HEART, SHRED OF HOPE, and I WILL DRINK MY TEARS was screened at film festivals around the world, winning numerous prizes. His first feature YOUTH premiered in the Berlinale 2013 and after that at more than 100 festivals. Film was awarded with New talent award at the Taipei film festival and won three major prizes in the Jerusalem film festival. Film was also nominated for the Israeli Ophir award.

Shoval was chosen for the Rolex Mentors and protégés Arts Initiative by director Alejandro Gonzales Iñárritu who will be working with him as his mentor during this year.

Shoval is the co-writer of short film AYA which was nominated for Academy award.
