World premiere of the Film WITH MOM

Competition programme – feature film, offered two films on Wednesday. Austrian film TALEA by the director Katharina Mückstein was shown first in the National Theatre Cinema. It was followed by the long-awaited world premiere of the WITH MOM feature film by the BiH director Faruk Lončarević.

WITH MOM is a story about Berina, a young artist, who is trying to live out her just discovered sexuality and, at the same time, accept her mother’s terminal illness. Jasna, a dominating woman, mother, doctor and pillar of the family, is entering the terminal phase of breast cancer, which she has been fighting against for nine years. Her husband Mladen doesn’t know how to handle the fact that he is losing Jasna. Their younger daughter Luna is extremely introverted and childish. Living in her own world, surrounded by a family she cannot communicate with, Berina is trying to save her mother in her own ways: through magic, rituals, fate…

Prior to the screening, the film crew appeared on the Red Carpet in front of the National Theatre.
