ONCE UPON A TIME Screened at Multiplex Cinema City

ONCE UPON A TIME, by the Turkish director Kazim Öz, screened today (22 August) at Multiplex Cinema City.

This documentary film from the competition programme tells the story of a poor crowded Kurdish family that arrives from Batman to Ankara to work on the fields every year.  Without any benefits and with very low wages, the family works to gain a living by cultivating lettuce. This year, the story takes a different turn gearing into a sudden, unexpected love story.
 
Kazim Öz was born in 1973 in Dersim. He studied architecture as well as cinema and TV at Marmara University.  He won Libraries Award at the Cinema du Reel 2014, the FIPRESCI Award and the Special Mention of the Jury Award at the Istanbul International Film Festival 2014 with his film ONCE UPON A TIME.
