Awards Presented to Authors of the Best Videos in the "Films for Future" Competition

The authors of the best reels in a competition for young people aged 13 to 25 from Bosnia and Herzegovina, under the title "Films for Future," were awarded prizes today at the Festival Square.

The best video has been published on the social media of the Sarajevo Film Festival, which is in partnership with Sarajevo UNESCO City of Film and the Green Club, composed of members of the parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH).

Adna Špuren from Sarajevo is the author of the best 90-second video, and the creative jury also awarded reels created by Damir Rimac from Sarajevo, Ailana Softić from Živinice, Iman Duratbegović from Sarajevo, and Asja Vreto from Rakovica.

Fifteen-year-old Adna Špuren was awarded an electric scooter, with the award presented to her by Ingrid Macdonald, the UN Resident Coordinator in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Other awards were also presented by Ingrid Macdonald, as well as Miljana Simić, a member of the Green Club and a representative in the parlament of the Brčko District. Damir Rimac won the second prize, a bicycle, while Ailana Softić, who came in third, received a drone. Iman Duratbegović won a smartwatch in fourth place, and Asja Vreto, who came in fifth, received wireless headphones.

After the award ceremony, Jovan Marjanović, the director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, spoke about the festival's mission to achieve a "zero greenhouse gas emissions" rate in the coming years. He also highlighted that one of the locations of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival was the Green Pavilion, where young people had the opportunity to present their ideas about environmental protection.

The competition "Films for Future" was organized by the Sarajevo Film Festival in partnership with the Sarajevo City of Film UNESCO and the Green Club, composed of members of the parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH).

The youth created videos on one of the following topics: What can young people do for a healthier and greener planet? How can they help preserve the environment? How can they make positive changes in their community?

The winning video was published at the social media of the Sarajevo Film Festival and Sarajevo UNESCO City of Film.

The competition was organized with the aim of raising awareness about sustainable development and environmental protection for all of us and future generations.
