3 WEEKS AFTER at UNIQA Open Air Cinema Stari Grad
What starts as an ordinary school trip turns into a psychological drama when a boy named Zoza speaks out about his best friend's suicide and brutal bullying, only to become the victim of a cruel betrayal himself.
As part of the Open Air Premieres programme, the film 3 WEEKS AFTER, directed by Miroslav Terzić, was screened tonight at the UNIQA Open Air Cinema Stari Grad.
It all begins as a typical school trip. A bus, school friends, professors, casual jokes, small excitements, and the well-known temporary sense of freedom children get when travelling. Gradually, however, it becomes clear that all is not well in the small community. Daily glances, teasing, and silences hide something nobody wants to talk about. Zoza is burdened by the death of his best friend, who committed suicide three weeks before the school trip. When he decides to talk about his school friends’ failure to speak up about the brutal mistreatment of his friend and their decision to turn their gaze away from it, all attention turns to him. From that moment, he becomes the next victim. He escapes into the woods and then into a cave, where the only person he can still trust finds him. She betrays him, too. After what happens to him, something in Zoza shifts for good. He returns at dawn. Changed.
