Jury of the Competition Programme – Student Short Film of the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival

 

 

Actress Jara Sofija Ostan was born in 2006 in Ljubljana. Alongside her school education, she started attending auditions, one of them leading her to director Urška Djukić and her debut feature film Little Trouble Girls, where Jara played the leading role of Lucija. The film had its world premiere at the Berlinale (2025) in the festival's new programme, Perspectives. 

 

For the role of Lucija, she received the award for Best Leading Actress at the inaugural Adriatic Film Awards (2025) and the Vesna Award for Best Female Leading Role at the 28th Festival of Slovenian Film in Portorož. She is also the recipient of the Silver Peacock for Best Actress at the International Film Festival of India in Goa, as well as the Angela Award at the Subtitle Festival in Kilkenny. 

 

She continued to work in film and since then has completed a few short films and smaller roles in Slovenian feature films. She finished high school in 2025 and her music and cello education in 2026. Around that time, she became a member of the European Film Academy and the Adriatic Film and TV Academy. 

 

 

Vladimir Trivić grew up in Sarajevo. After moving to the United Kingdom, he graduated from the prestigious National Film and Television School. There, he learned his cinematography skills under the mentorship of directors of photography Sean Bobbitt, Brian Tufano, and Billy Williams. Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong connection to the region's filmmaking community, and his work reflects an enduring love for the cinema and culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

 

As Director of Photography, he shot the feature film The Night Guards, which screened in the official competition at the 65th Venice International Film Festival. He has also developed a long creative collaboration with Bosnian artist Šejla Kamerić, shooting her films What Do I Know and Happiness. His short film Summer was awarded the Golden Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival. His feature films include Love and Dance, directed by Shimmy Marcus, and Get Up and Go, directed by Brendan Grant. 

 

Alongside his fiction projects, Trivić has shot long-form documentary films for the BBC, HBO, ARTE, and ZDF. His documentary work has been recognized with BAFTA awards and a Grierson Award. He has also taught cinematography at the MetFilm School at Ealing Studios. 

 

 

Adem Tutić is an award-winning Belgrade-based director studying Film Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts. He began his filmmaking journey at the Free Zone Junior documentary camp.

 

Balancing fiction and documentary film, his works explore questions of identity, belonging, and social realities. He is the director of the films An Epitaph for the Forgotten and Forty. The film Forty won the Bronze Egg at the Kustendorf Film Festival, while his latest short film Tarik received the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Student Short Film at the 31st Sarajevo Film Festival, alongside a series of other international awards. 

 

He was a jury member at several international film festivals, and currently developing his debut feature documentary film Chahid’s Home.
