Special Pre-Festival Screening: „Woman with a Landscape“ by Ivica Matić

The day before the official opening, on Thursday, August 13 at 8:30 PM, the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival, in collaboration with the Slovenian Cinematheque, will present a screening of the restored version of the film classic Woman with a Landscape, by Ivica Matić.

 

The screening will take place at the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema, with free admission. Tickets must be collected online or at the Main Box Office (Bosnian Cultural Center, Branilaca Sarajeva 24) starting Monday at 10 AM.

This timeless classic of Bosnian cinema by director Ivica Matić can also be viewed as the author's personal allegory and a reflection of his ambition to revive Yugoslav cinema.

 

The plot brings a story about the conflict between a highly sensitive individual and an environment reduced to elementary interests. When a self-taught naïve painter attracts the attention of a married townswoman, their closeness deeply disturbs the community, which responds repressively.

 

The cast of the film Woman with a Landscape (Yugoslavia, 1976, 66 min.) features Stole Aranđelović, Božidarka Frajt, Uroš Kravljača, Zaim Muzaferija, Jadranka Matković, Špela Rozin, Miodrag Brezo, Ratko Petković, Adnan Palangić, and Halima Mušić.
