MINOTAUR by Andrey Zvyagintsev Screened at Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema

As always in Zvyagintsev's works, an intimate story grows into something much larger - a portrait of society, power, violence and a historical moment.

MINOTAUR, the latest film by Andrey Zvyagintsev, was screened at the Coca-Cola Open Air Cinema. The screening of this long-awaited film was held as part of the Open Air programme of the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival. The film had its world premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival, where it was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix - the Grand Jury Prize.

Before the screening, the audience was greeted by Jovan Marjanović, director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, and actors Dmitry Mazurov and Iris Lebedeva.

"The new film by Andrei Zvyagintsev, one of the most significant authors of contemporary European cinema, takes us to Russia in 2022. We follow the life of a successful businessman whose seemingly controlled world gradually falls apart. As always in Zvyagintsev's works, an intimate story grows into something much larger - a portrait of society, power, violence and a historical moment," said Marjanović.

Actor Dmitriy Mazurov emphasized that it is a great honor and joy for them to be part of the Sarajevo Film Festival.

"We thank the organizers for the invitation. We have invested a lot of physical and emotional energy in this project. We sincerely hope that you will find the film interesting, that it will awaken your curiosity and leave a strong impression," said Mazurov.

Iris Lebedeva emphasized that they are proud to present the film in Sarajevo.

"After Cannes, coming to this festival is a big and important journey for our team. For me personally, this film has a deeper value because it marks the return of Andrei Zvyaginchev to film after nine years of a difficult period in his life. We are extremely proud of our director, we love him and happy that tonight we have the opportunity to speak on his behalf," Lebedeva concluded.

Tomorrow, Friday, beginning at 12:30 pm., Dmitry Mazurov and Iris Lebedeva will be guests of the programme "Grand coffee with...", where they will discuss the process of working on the film and cooperation with the director Zvyagintsev at the festival's public discussion.
