The premiere of the film THE WIDOWER Tonight

Film The Widower by director Hari Šečić had its world premiere tonight at the UNIQA Open Air Cinema Stari Grad at 8:45 pm. This screening officially opened the Open Air Premiere programme of the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival.

Mirsad is a sixty-two-year-old electrician who was raised and lives in a patriarchal society. His daily routine changes after the sudden death of his wife, Enisa. Mirsad is left alone while his grown children live their own lives. As he tries to get used to a life without his wife, he realises that he took her for granted and had never given her the love and care she deserved. Mirsad’s relationship with his estranged son worsens after he discovers the son lives with a male friend. While his best friend tries to convince him to find a new wife, Mirsad starts questioning his life and his relationships with people, but it is too late for him to change the way he treated Enisa. Soon, Mirsad realises his daughter lives a life similar to that of her mother.
