Opening of the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival in the Sign of BH Cinematography

This year again, the Opening Ceremony of the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival will be entirely in the sign of Bosnian-Herzegovinian cinematography.

This year’s Sarajevo Film Festival will be opened with the film CHILDREN OF SARAJEVO, by the BH directress Aida Begić, and a special pleasure represents the fact that the role of the host of this most ceremonious moment of the Festival – its opening – this year again, befell to the BH actress, Venesa Glođo.

With the aim of promoting BH filmmakers, but also BH cinematography in general, the Sarajevo Film Festival has for years now assigned the role of the host of the Gala Opening Ceremony to successful young BH actors. In previous years, this role was entrusted to the actors Zana Marjanović, Ermin Bravo, and Boris Ler.

BH actress Vanesa Glođo, who is righteously placed among the most successful generation of the BH actors, has during the last year realized a series of distinguished roles, as well as the international career in several films and theatre plays of European and worldwide productions, among which is one of the leading roles in the film IN THE LAND OF BLOOD AND HONEY, directed by Angelina Jolie. On Friday, July 6, in the National Theatre, Vanesa Glođo will announce the opening of the nine-day film festival in our city.

This year’s Gala Reception on the occasion of the opening of the Sarajevo Film Festival will take place in the hotel Europe, where numerous guests and friends of the Festival, film professionals and authors from our region and worldwide will get together.
