Work in Progress Call for Entries is Open

18th Sarajevo Film Festival, CineLink  is proud to once again announce that Work in Progress  call for entries will be open on 8th of May for the eligible projects.

Deadline for submitting the applications 1st of June 2012.

During CineLink Work-in-Progress, around five films in post-production are presented, in a two-day event, to selected international sales agents, festival representatives, distributors and post-production companies. Work-in-Progress aims to facilitate the completion, subsequent festival presentation and theatrical release of the selected films.

In 2009, CineLink Work-in-Progress, in collaboration with Berlin-based post-production facility The Post Republic, introduced an award for the project with the highest artistically value and potential for international circulation. The award, decided by an international jury, consists of in-kind post-production services amounting to 80.000 EUR from The Post Republic.

The first film to win this award was Romanian director Florin Şerban’s IF I WANT TO WHISTLE, I WHISTLE, subsequently awarded the Silver Bear and the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlinale 2010.

CineLink Work-in-Progress is open for film projects from the following countries: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey. After the pilot period of last editions, projects from Northern African and Middle Eastern countries bordering the Mediterranean See, and the Caucasus Region are also eligible.

One additional project, a documentary from the Rough Cut Boutique, a workshop organized by the Festival's Documentary Competition Program in collaboration with the Balkan Documentary Center, was announced during the festival.

The growing attendance of a professional audience and the proven success of the selected film also underline the importance of Work in Progress.
