
“Bodily Function” Wins the Atlantic Group Award 2011
The winner of this year’s “Atlantic Group Award” for the best short film made as part of the Sarajevo City of Film project is “Bodily Function” by director and scriptwriter Dane Komljen. The jury announced the decision on Tuesday night at the !hej Open Air Cinema, prior to the evening screening.
The jury was consisted of the following members: Anne Garber (Regard Film GmbH, Austria), Christian Denier (Clermont – Ferrand International Short Film Festival) and Ina Nikolova and Rayna Atanasova (directors, winners of the Sofia Short Film Challenge).
The film crew includes actors Anel Hasanbašić and Rijad Gvozden, director of photography Amel Đikoli, producers Alex Traila, Davorka Begović and Vladislav Bulajić.
This award for the best film is traditionally presented by the Atlantic Group – partner to the Sarajevo City of Film project. Also on this occasion the jury announced its special commendation to Nora Lakos, the director of EDINA, which was made in BiH/Hungarian co-production. Cast of the film are: Eszter Tompa, Boris Ler, Amina Begović and Nicolas Moll, director of photography is Daniel Bálint,and producers are Alex Traila, Davorka Begović and Vladislav Bulajić.
In the following days, the Sarajevo Film Festival audience will have an opportunity to see short films made as part of the Sarajevo City of Film 2011 project. In addition to the films that have been awarded, the audience will also be able to see two other films: POSTHUMOUS (BiH/Turkey) by Cenk Erturk (cast: Senad Alihodžić, Adnan Hasković, Šerif Aljić, Muhamed Bahonjić), SCENES WITH WOMEN (BiH/Serbia) by Nikola Ljuca (cast: Marko
Cindrić, Borka Tomović, Sadžida Šetić, Jasna Beri, Jelena Kordić).
Screenings will take place at the !hej Open Air Cinema prior to the evening screening.
