Second Discussion at DocuCorner Ends
Nedžad Begović (BiH), author of the film “Mobile Phone”, Saša Ban (Coratia), author of the film “Land of Knowledge”, and Mila Turajlić (Serbia), author of the film “Cinema Komunisto”, were the guests of DocuCorner.
The discussion about the film “Mobile Phone” focused on the accessibility of mobile phones and the possibility of making films by using mobile phones. The way mobile phones affect one’s right to privacy in the age of new technologies was also mentioned.
Saša Ban, the second guest of DocuCorner, tackled in his film “Land of Knowledge” the issue of financing education and free education. This issue captured the interest of almost all participants in the discussion, as most of them are students, active in the Youth Human Rights Initiative in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
Mila Turajlić was the third guest of the discussion. Her debut film “Cinema Komunisto” captured significant attention throughout the region and opened many topics. The author’s opinion, shared by the participants in the discussion as well, is that culture in Serbia is viewed as a necessary evil and that the state shows practically no interest in culture. One of the conclusions was that the film “Cinema Komunisto” initiated dialogue between different generations, which is good because of certain issues from the past.
