Wim Wenders to present "PINA" at Sarajevo Film Festival
Sarajevo Film Festival has a great pleasure to announce that one of the guest of its 17th edition will be prominent director Wim Wenders. This multiple-awarded director ranks among the most successful representatives of the “New German Film”.
Some of his feature and documentary films have left an indelible imprint on the world cinema, such as BIS ANS ENDE DER WELT, DER HIMMEL ÜBER BERLIN, PARIS, TEXAS, BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB, and many others.
This distinguished film author is going to present to the Sarajevo audience his latest film PINA, feature-length documentary film about a legendary choreographer Pina Bausch. This is a revolutionary 3D film achievement which had its world premiere at the 61st International Film Festival in Berlin.
The film PINA is an extraordinary visual journey which represents certain homage to a famous Pina Bausch who died in the summer of 2009. At first Wenders wanted to realise the film together with Pina Bausch, and wanted to give up the project after her death, but the members of her ensemble Tanztheater Wuppertal - Pina Bausch persuaded him to still make the film about her, the film for her.

Sarajevo Film Festival is going to organise a special screening of this exceptional achievement, which had an excellent reception by the international audience and critics. The audience in Sarajevo is going to have the opportunity to see this film in 3D.
During his stay in Sarajevo, Wim Wenders is going to give lectures at the Sarajevo Talent Campus, education programme organised by the Sarajevo Film Festival in cooperation with the Berlinale Talent Campus and the International Film Festival in Berlin. The topic of this year’s Sarajevo Talent Campus is OUR TIME, MY VIEWPOINT, with focus on the author’s film work, creative selections by the author, and the author’s response to the time in which we live. With this year’s Sarajevo Talent Campus participants, Wenders is going to share the thoughts about the new perspective of the time in which we live, as well as the experiences of working with the 3D technology. Wenders is coming to Sarajevo with 12 of his students, who are going to have an organised tour of the Industry Department of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
