Guests of the “Coffee with…” Programme Juan José Campanella and Javier Godino

On the ninth day of the Festival, “Coffee with…” Programme hosted director Juan José Campanella and actor Javier Godino of the film THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES. The film has been screened last evening in the !hej Open Air Cinema within the Open Air Programme.

In the relaxed conversation with the audience, director and actor spoke about their cooperation at the film, based on the motifs from the Eduardo Sacheria’s novel, The Question in Their Eyes / La pregunta de sus ojos.

Campanella emphasized that his cooperation with Godino came about after the initial actor gave up the role, which at the end turned out to be the best solution. “Godino’s joining the team was a real blessing to all of us, since it turned out that he is a much better actor and that this was the right role for him”, emphasized Campanella.

The young actor didn’t hide his pleasure in cooperating on the film, and had only the words of praise for the director. “To work with Campanella is a real enjoyment. He is always good-tempered at the set, and talks a lot with the actors. That meant a lot to us, and made our work much easier”, concluded Godino.

Film THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES is this year’s Oscar winner in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
