Following the closing of 4th Sarajevo Talent Campus Call for Entries, which was opened until May 24th, the participants have been selected to take part in this year’s edition of the STC Programme dedicated to young filmmakers from the countries of Southeast Europe.

The Selection Committee of which the members were Izeta Građević, Sarajevo Film Festival Creative Director, Elma Tataragić, Competition Programme Selector, Jovan Marjanović, the SFF's Head of Industry, and Amra Bakšić-Čamo, Head of CineLink, has chosen 64 STC participants coming from the following countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey and UNMI Kosovo.

The Sarajevo Talent Campus, launched in cooperation with the Berlin International Film Festival and the Berlinale Talent Campus, aims to connect young film professionals from Southeast Europe with established film professionals, to inform them and get them closer to regional and international film industry. During the seven-day programme, young film professionals are provided with the opportunity to exchange their viewpoints and ideas. Also, the Campus encourages Talents to team work and international cooperation in developing, financing, producing, and distribution of future projects.

The high-quality programme including series of workshops, discussions and screenings, together with presence of renowned film professionals as the STC lecturers, are the reason for increasing interest of young filmmakers from Southeast Europe to take part in this programme. The best confirmation of this is the record number of applications received this year – the total of 208.

Fifteen young scriptwriters have been selected for participation in 2010 Sarajevo Talent Campus (5 from Romania, 2 each form BiH, Serbia, Turkey, and 1 each from Croatia, Macedonia, Slovenia and Kosovo). Participants of this year’s STC are also fifteen producers (4 from Romania, 3 from BiH, 2 each from Croatia and Turkey, 1 each from Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia), sixteen actors (4 from Croatia, 2 each from Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Slovenia, 1 each from BiH, Greece, Romania and Serbia), 18 directors (3 each from Hungary, Romania, Serbia, 2 each from BiH and Croatia, 1 each from Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Slovenia and Turkey).

Sarajevo Talent Campus will take place from 25th to 31st of July. In its fourth edition it is going to continue offering the high-quality programme, as it was the case in the previous years when its lecturers were Alexander Payne, Jeremy Irons, Charlie Kaufman, Juliette Binoche, Danis Tanović, Michael Moore, Branko Lustig, Kevin Spacey, Steve Buscemi, Terry George, Mike Leigh, Darren Aronofsky, Jim Sheridan, Stellan Skarsgard, Anamaria Marinca, Corneliu Porumboiu, Yorgos Lanthimos, Adrian Biniez, Jasmila Žbanić, Ademir Kenović, Čedomir Kolar, Pjer Žalica, Leon Lučev, Aida Begić, as well as many other successful film professionals.

The overall theme of the 4th Sarajevo Talent Campus is “Storytelling – From Your Backyard to the World”, and programme novelty of this year’s STC is Sarajevo Talent Campus Pack&Pitch. The results of the selection procedure for participation in the Sarajevo Talent Campus Pack&Pitch Project are going to be announced on July 2nd, 2010.
