Top Prizes at Berlinale for CineLink Projects!
Top prize of the 60th International Film Festival in Berlin, the Golden Bear, is awarded to the film "Honey". Triumph of Turkish director Semih Kaplanoglu is of exceptional importance for the Sarajevo Film Festival since the awarded film has been developed and financed through the CineLink, the SFF’s Co-Production Market. The film "Honey" was included in the CineLink Selection 2008, and represents the last part of the Kaplanoglu’s trilogy EGG/MILK/HONEY. This film is also awarded with the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury of the 60th Berlinale.
Apart from the triumph of the "Honey", the great success in Berlin is also achieved by the film "If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle" by the Romanian debutant director Florin Şerban. His film is awarded with the Jury Grand Prix, as well as with the Alfred Bauer Prize. "If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle" is the film that went through the CineLink Project Development Workshop in 2008. During the same year it participated in the CineLink Co-Production Market and was also awarded. At the Official Awards Announcement Ceremony of the 15th Sarajevo Film Festival in 2009, the film "If I Want to Whistle, I Whistle" won the CineLink Work in Progress Award - post-production services worth 80.000 EUR provided by the Berlin-based company the Post Republic.
