ORDINARY PEOPLE – The Best Yet Again, This Time At Cottbus!
Vladimir Perišić’s ORDINARY PEOPLE has won the "Lubina", the Grand Prix at the 19th Cottbus Film Festival. The members of Cottbus’ international jury have described this film as having “extraordinary artistic value of the film, including all the components of a really great work: a strong story, outstanding director’s and DP’s work, wonderful acting and the astonishingly refined construction of the film".
We remind you that ORDINARY PEOPLE had earlier been graced with the Heart of Sarajevo Award for Best Film at the 15th SFF, while actor Relja Popović also received the Heart of Sarajevo Best Actor Award.
With his “minimalistic and instinctive way of acting“, Popović also fascinated the Cottbus jurors, resulting in an Award for Best Acting Performance.
Alongside ORDINARY PEOPLE, the film THE BLACKS, a work by directing duo Goran Dević and Zvonimir Jurić (which premiered in the 15th Sarajevo Film Festival Competition Feature Film Programme), also went home with an award from Cottbus- the Award for Best Director, which Dević and Jurić shared with Russian director Aleksey Mizgirev (director of BUBEN BARABAN).
THE BLACKS is also the recipient of the FIPRESCI Award.
