In September 2000, 191 governments committed to halve world poverty by 2015. They defined 8 goals: The Millennium Development Goals. We're only halfway to reaching these goals. The situation remains critical! Eight filmmakers have engaged to share their vision of these major issues with the public. LDM Productions has conceived and produced this feature film. 8 is not a commissioned film, but one that is independent of all institutions. Each director was given carte blanche. 8 sets out to make the public aware of the existence of this campaign and of the need for action. The film is also aimed at politicians to remind them of their engagements.
