ALICE KLARA ARNOLD
Filmmaker and a film lecturer, Switzerland
After studying at the London Film School (MA, 1984) Alice Klara Arnold worked as an independent director and writer for different independent producers and for Swiss TV. Since 1989 she has taught film practice, (directing) at HEAD in Geneva (University of Art and Design), where she is responsible for the second year students and supervises diploma films. At the same time she worked in recent years with different production companies and directors as consultant for scenario-writing and editing. She is a founding member of alva Film, Geneva and was recently the executive producer and artistic consultant for Ivo Zen’s new documentary: Maurus, Nadia, Flurin, which has just been released. She is currently developing Anup Singhs new fiction film: Le voyage retour and writing and developing her own documentary Passages.

Photographer Zijah Gafić is the recipient of some of the most prestigious international awards for photography, such as: the Sunday Times Magazine Ian Perry Award, the Grand Prix Discovery of the Year, the Giacomelli Memorial Fund Award, the Getty Images Grant for Editorial Photography… He has won multiple awards from the prestigious World Press Photo, has also received the Joop Swart Masterclass scholarship, and the Photo District News magazine has him among the thirty best photographers in the world. Gafić publishes reports in international publications such as the Telegraph Magazine, Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine, L'Espresso, Photo, La Repubblica, The Times Magazine, TIME. He has held exhibitions at prominent international festivals and galleries. Gafić’s photo-essay on the consequences of war in Bosnia and Herzegovina was published in the book "Tales from globalizing world", published by Thames & Hudson.
CHRIS MCDONALD
Executive director of Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival, Canada
Chris McDonald was appointed Executive Director of Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in October of 1998. A native of Montreal, Chris holds a degree in Film Studies from McGill University. Prior to Hot Docs, Chris was Development Director for five years at the prestigious Canadian Film Centre, the advanced film, television and new media training centre founded by director Norman Jewison.
Prior to working at the CFC, Chris worked for two national environmental organizations. He serves on several industry advisory boards, and has served on panels and juries at leading festivals around the world.
