Call for Entries: Sarajevo City of Film Project 2012

The call for entries to participate in the Sarajevo City of Film 2012 project will be open from 3rd November to 9th December 2011.

The goal of the project is to support and instigate cooperation between young filmmakers in Southeast Europe, and the call for entries will be open, as in previous years, only for the participants of one of the two previous editions of the Sarajevo Talent Campus.

In this way, the Sarajevo Film Festival wishes to give the chance to directors, screenwriters, actors and producers, who attended the Sarajevo Talent Campus during the 16th and 17th editions of the Sarajevo Film Festival, to present their talent and gain additional experience by making short films.

Applications for the Sarajevo City of Film Project 2012 can be submitted by directors, together with a team of screenwriters and actors, also participating in one of the Campuses in Sarajevo, while producers who wish to participate in the production of the shorts selected for the Project should apply to the Sarajevo City of Film Production Workshop 2012.

The Project will select up to 5 screenplays, as well as up to 3 producers, who will, under the mentorship of film professionals, take a selected screenplay through all the phases of the production.

The filming and entire production process will take place in Sarajevo between February and June 2012, while the completed films will be screened during the 18th Sarajevo Film Festival.

Sarajevo City of Film Project, initiated in 2007 and sponsored by the Film Fund Sarajevo and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has so far led to the filming of 18 short films screened worldwide, won numerous festivals awards, and will continue, in its fifth edition this year, to search for young talented filmmakers from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey and UNMI Kosovo, and give them the opportunity to promote their work.

Last year’s edition of the Sarajevo City of Film Project was realized with the support of the partner of the project Atlantic Grupa, and by Film Fund Sarajevo / Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Royal Norwegian Embassy, Croatian Audiovisual Centre, MDGF, NATO, BH Radio-Television, as well as in-kind sponsorship by numerous companies which recognized the relevance of this project for the whole region.
