BEHROOZ HASHEMIAN
Behrooz Hashemian is Paris based independent producer. With Setareh Farsi he established Silkroad Production in July 2000. He has produced following films: Manhatten by numbers, directed by Amir Naderi, Journey to the Sun by Yesim Ustaoglu (won Blue Angel and Peace Film Award at 1999 Berlin International Film Festival) and Waiting for the Clouds by the same author. He co-produced How I killed the Saint by Teona Mitevska, In this World by Michael Winterbottom (2003 Golden Berlin Bear) and Half Moon by Bahman Ghobadi (2006 Grand Prix San Sebastian Film Festival). He is a co-producer of I am from Titov Veles by Teona Mitevska (Sarajevo Film Festival - Special Jury Award) and Pandora`s Box by Yesinm Ustaoglu-release Fall 2008. ČEDORIM KOLAR
Čedomir Kolar was born in former Yugoslavia, in the city of Rijeka on the Adriatic coast of Croatia. He graduated in film production at the Belgrade Academy of Dramatic Arts. From 1975 to 1990, he worked as a film critic correspondant in Rome, for various Yugoslav magazines. For many years, he acted as an Asistant to the delegate of the Mostra Internazionale del Cinema in Venice, but also as representative and selector for the Belgrade International Film Festival. In 1984, he moved into feature films and TV series production. Among his many credits we find feature films such as Giuliano Montaldo´s Les Lunettes d’Or . From 1990 to 1991, he worked as a producer for Constellation Productions in Paris. During this period he contributes to the production of feature films such as: Arizona Dream by Emir Kusturica, When the Stars Were Red by Dusan Trandick, Virgina by Srdjan Karanovic or Pargue by Ian Sellar. Since 1991, he has been acting as producer for Noé Productions in Paris. His credits include Before the Rain by Milcho Manchevski, Africa my Africa and Kini and Adams by Idrissa Ouedraogo, As you like me by Carmine Amoroso, Train of Life by Radu Mihaileanu, The Adopted Son and The Chimp by Aktan Abdykalykov, No Man’s Land by Danis Tanovic and Danis Tanovic’s short film in the collection of films 11’09 01-September 11 , produced by Galatée films and StudioCanal. In 2003 he started the new Paris based production entity, A.S.A.P. Films , together with the director Danis Tanovic and his fellow producer Marc Baschet. In 2005 he produced for A.S.A.P. Films Danis Tanovic’s feature film Hell ( L’Enfer ) written by Krzysztof Piesiewicz in collaboration with the late Krzysztof Kieslowski, with Emmanuelle Béart, Karin Viard, Marie Gillain, Guillaume Cannet, Jacque Gamblin, Jacque Perrin, Carole Bouquet et Miki Manojlovic. In 2004 and 2005 he also co-produced Benjamin Filipovic’s film Well tempered Corpses as well as, in 2006, Marion Hänsel’s Sounds of Sand ( Si Le Vent Souleve Les Sables). In 2008/09 Cedomir produced Danis Tanovic’s film Triage , after the novel by Scott Anderson with Colin Farrell, Paz Vega and Christopher Lee. The film will have the world premiere in Toronto in September 2009, as well as the film Besa by Serbian director Srdjan Karanovic. Cedomir is actually working on the film The Light by Aktan Arym Kubat (a.k.a Abdykalykov). The shooting of the film will start in early June 2009 in the region of the lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. The new film by Danis Tanovic, Cirkus Columbia , after the novel by Ivica Djikic, will start shooting in October 2009 in Bosnia and in Slovenia with Miki Manojlovic and Mira Furlan in the lead roles.
GEORGES GOLDENSTERN
Georges Goldenstern, former General Director Arte France Cinema (more than 250 films coproduced), now Manager of the Cinefondation, Festival de Cannes.1998, the Festival de Cannes created the Cinefondation to support film creation throughout the world and help prepare the passing of the torch to next generation of filmmakers. In 2005, the Festival confided the Cinefondation with the mission of organising the Atelier: about twenty filmmakers, chosen on the basis of an accomplished film project, are invited to the Festival de Cannes to attain production and international production under highly favourable conditions.
MARIT VAN DEN ELSHOUT
Marit van den Elshout studied Theatre, Film and Television at the University of Utrecht and started working at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2000 as a member of the CineMart staff. Besides the IFFR, she has worked at many different festivals, including the Melbourne International Film Festival, where she worked as Industry Liaison Coordinator for several months. Since May 2005 Marit has headed the CineMart, the International Co-production market of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, together with Bianca Taal and as of 1 April 2007 onwards she acts as the sole manager of CineMart. Besides managing the CineMart, Marit is also on the selection committee of the Hubert Bals Fund of the Rotterdam Film Festival and on the selection committee for short films for the Rotterdam Film Fund.
CAMILLA LARSSON
Camilla Larsson is Head of the Selection Committee at Göteborg International Film Festival Fund. She is also Head of Press and Information at the festival as well as a festival programmer and editor of the film magazine Filmkonst. Her work for the festival started in 1996, first as manager of the ticket department, then as manager of the guest department and editor of the festival daily tabloid “The Dragon”. She has been working as a free lance journalist in the areas of film, theatre, litterature and music for many years, and still contributes to the arts section of GT/Expressen, one of Swedens biggest daily papers. Furthermore she is member of the board at the publishing house Reverb, specialising in books about music and popular culture. Except for journalism and film studies, her studies include a degree in International Economics at the School of Business in Göteborg, studies in literature, creative writing and languages. She speaks fluent Swedish, English, French and some Spanish. She was born in 1966, in the south of Sweden. Today she lives in Göteborg.
ÅSA LARSSON
Åsa Larsson is the CEO of the Göteborg International Film Festival. She is also responsible for the Göteborg International Film Festival Fund and part of the film festival’s programming committee. She started working with the film festival as a volunteer in 1994 and has, since then, been working as among other things Head of the Press Department, film fund co-ordinator and CFO. Åsa Larsson was born in 1973, she has a master in journalism and literature and has worked as freelance journalist, editor and scriptwriter.
